Strawberry Pecan Pretzel Salad

A sweet and savory dessert salad with layers of pretzel crust, creamy filling, and a strawberry-pecan topping.

  • 3 cups crushed pretzels
  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 12 ounces whipped topping
  • 1 (6 ounce) package strawberry gelatin
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 (16 ounce) package frozen strawberries, sliced
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Mix pretzels, butter, and 1/2 cup sugar together. Press into the bottom of a 9×13 inch pan. Bake for 10 minutes. Cool completely.
  3. Beat cream cheese and 1 cup sugar together until smooth. Gently fold in whipped topping. Spread over cooled pretzel crust.
  4. In a large bowl, dissolve strawberry gelatin in boiling water. Stir in frozen strawberries and pecans. Chill until slightly thickened.
  5. Pour strawberry mixture over cream cheese layer. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.

Notes

For best results, let the pretzel crust cool completely before adding the cream cheese layer. You can substitute other fruits and nuts for the strawberries and pecans.
