Homemade Slow Cooker Beef and Broccoli

This Slow Cooker Beef and Broccoli is even better than takeout! Tender beef and crisp broccoli florets coated in a savory sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs Beef Stew Meat, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
  • 4 cups Broccoli Florets
  • Cooked Rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a slow cooker, combine beef stew meat, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, cornstarch, ground ginger, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  2. Stir well to combine.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, or until beef is tender.
  4. In the last 30 minutes of cooking time, add broccoli florets to the slow cooker.
  5. Stir to combine and cover. Cook until broccoli is tender-crisp.
  6. Serve over cooked rice.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water and stir into the slow cooker in the last 15 minutes of cooking time.
