Italian Crescent Casserole

This Italian Crescent Casserole is a comforting, cheesy, and easy weeknight dinner made with crescent roll dough, savory ground beef, and gooey mozzarella.

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup marinara or pasta sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil and brown the ground beef over medium heat.
  3. Drain excess fat and stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix egg and sour cream until smooth. Set aside.
  5. Unroll crescent dough and press it into the bottom and sides of a greased 9-inch pie plate or baking dish.
  6. Spread the beef mixture over the dough evenly.
  7. Spoon the sour cream mixture over the beef, then sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
  8. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  9. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

You can swap ground beef with Italian sausage for extra flavor. Serve with a side salad or roasted vegetables.
