Delicious Homemade Fresh Peach Cake

This Amazing Fresh Peach Cake is easy to make and perfect for summer! It’s moist, delicious, and bursting with fresh peach flavor.

  • 6 tablespoons (3 ounces) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cups peeled and sliced fresh peaches

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and arrange the peach slices on top.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.

Notes

For best results, use ripe but firm peaches. You can also add a streusel topping for extra flavor.
