  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 9 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine beef, onion, garlic, crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper in a slow cooker.
  2. Stir in lasagna noodles. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  3. Top with ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, and fresh basil before serving.

Notes

For a spicier soup, add a pinch of red pepper flakes. You can also use Italian sausage instead of ground beef.
